EXT. THE DARK HOUSE -- NIGHT

Dusk settles as the Porsche glides over the hill. The
House -- large, ominous, beaten and imposing, -- is
                embedded in the tree-line.

Several smaller buildings, all in excellent shape,
radiate out from it. One of them, a small WINE SHOP, is
closed up tight. In the distance, field on field of grape
                vines can be made out.

                Wil whistles.

                                      WIL
                          Wow.

                                      KEEGAN
"Never confuse the size of your paycheck
with the size of your talent."

                                      WIL
                          Meaning?

                                      KEEGAN
                          Old money.

The car stops and Keegan pops the trunk. He stuffs a

                WRAPPED PACKAGE

back into his bag. Wil tries to help him with it, but he
                brushes him off.

                                      KEEGAN
I got it. I got it. Besides, I'm supposed
to take you in to meet my mom.

                                      WIL
                          If you want to.

                Keegan stares at the house.

                                      WIL
                          Do want to?

Bags in hand, Keegan pushes the door open and walks
                inside.

INT. THE DARK HOUSE -- NIGHT

                THE FOYER

is brightly lit, wonderfully decorated. It soars up to
                the second level above.

                                      WIL
I thought you said this place was falling
                          apart?

SCAFFOLDING is visible in the GREAT ROOM off the Foyer.
Plaster dries on the wall. Keegan touches the railing.

                He hears:

                                      YOUNG COLLIN (O.S.)
                                (softly)
                          Dare you!

                                      YOUNG KEEGAN (O.S.)
                                (softly)
                          Fine!

Sounds of a boy sliding down the bannister.

                                      KEEGAN
                          It's supposed to be.

                Keegan starts up the stairs.

                                      WIL
Key, should we really go up?

                                      KEEGAN
What's the problem? It's my house.

                ON THE SECOND FLOOR

He looks down the long hallway. Paint cans line the walk.
Old doors are off their hinges, new doors hang in their
                place.

                                      KEEGAN
My room is right down here.

For a moment, the paint cans melt away and the old doors
once again face a battered hallway. He sees a YOUNG
KEEGAN (8) and YOUNG COLLIN (12), race down the hall
laughing. A loud, male voice, heard only to him, booms
                out:

                                      STEVEN (O.S.)
                          Shut those boys up!

Wil touches him on the arm and he's back to the real
                world.

                                      WIL
                          Alright, Key?

                                      KEEGAN
                          Yeah fine.

Wil points down the hall to another staircase going up
                into the darkness.

                                      WIL
                          What's up there?

                                      KEEGAN
                          An un-fun place.

                He spins his bag.

                                      WIL
Let me show you my room. It joined the
bathroom which pissed my brother off to
                          no --

                He reaches for the door.

                JAKE BISHOP

explodes out of the bathroom. He's 24, toned, wet and
wearing only a towel. He pounds a fist into Keegan.

                                      JAKE
                          Dad! Mom! Call the cops!

Keegan connects with a punch to the jaw of his own but it
has absolutely no effect. Wil dives for Jake, but Jake
                throws him off.

ADRIAN BISHOP (38), dark, suave, and almost as built as
his son, races up the stairs and pulls Jake off. Adrian
                and Keegan lock eyes.

For a moment Keegan is back on the

                LOADING DOCK

racing after the blue truck. He blinks and the

INT. THE DARK HOUSE -- DAY

                SECOND FLOOR HALLWAY

springs back into view, with Jake being held back by
Adrian. Wil holds Keegan in check.

                                      JAKE
                                (to Keegan)
                          Who the hell are you?

                                      KEEGAN
                                (to Jake)
                          Who the fuck are you?

                                      JAKE
                          I live here.

                                      KEEGAN
                          I fucking live here!

                They move to fight again...

                                      CELESTE (O.S.)
                          Enough!

It stops Keegan in his tracks. From down the stairs at
the end of the hall, CELESTE DARK (50) radiant,
beautiful, commanding, descends into the melee:

                                      CELESTE (CONT'D)
There will be no more fighting.

                                      KEEGAN
                          Mother!

                                      CELESTE
                          Keegan.

                                      KEEGAN
                          Who are these--?

Celeste walks through the assemblage and plants a KISS on
                Adrian's cheek.

                                      CELESTE
This is Adrian, my husband. And that,
                          that's your step-brother, Jake.

                                      KEEGAN
                          Step. Brother?

                Wil whispers to Keegan:

                                      WIL
                                (whispers)
Mutt's nuts, mate. Your brother's hot.
