Screenplays are one of the few artistic forms that aren't complete when the writer finishes the work. The goal for a screenplay is not just to write it, and write it well, but to actually get the damn thing made (and made well.) The question I've pondered often at 3 AM, as I cry over an empty page, is can you really consider yourself a screenwriter if nothing you've written has made it to the screen? One day, perhaps, I'll be able to answer that question.
